Biography: Dan Olofsson


Over the past 36 years, Dan has built a global IT-services company supporting customers in their digitalization. The Danir Group has over 10,000 employees worldwide. Dan is passionate about entrepreneurship and with his two sons in leadership roles, the Danir Group will continue to grow for another generation.


Dan is also a committed philanthropist. Together with his wife Christin, he founded Star for Life, a charitable foundation focused on empowering young people to fulfill their dreams and live healthy lives. In the past two decades, over 500,000 youth have participated in Star for Life’s four-year program in public schools across Sweden, South Africa, Namibia, and Tanzania.

As a Christian, Dan believes in helping people of all faiths and making a real difference, specifically for those in need. He is a major donor to the Jewish community in his hometown, Malmö, and a prominent voice against racism and antisemitism. Dan’s vision is to create a society of tolerance and coexistence. He has pioneered Uppstart Malmö, focusing on integrating immigrants who mainly are Muslims into the job market. During the last 10 years, some 3,000 persons have gained employment through this initiative.

Dan’s latest endeavor is the creation of the Star for Life Foundation in Jerusalem, focusing on education, employment, and IT jobs for the Muslim, Jewish & Christian inhabitants of East Jerusalem. Dan is first and foremost a family man and has a large family including many grandchildren. He enjoys the outdoor life and spontaneous music sessions with his family and friends.
