Creating jobs for the inhabitants in East Jerusalem
The situation
Too few jobs in East Jerusalem.
Limited exchange of labor between East and West Jerusalem.
The Arab community mainly in low-income jobs and health care – few in middle-class jobs
Low employment rate among Arabic women.
High unemployment rate in East Jerusalem.
Project overview
SFL Job Hub will consist of four components; Connect, Growth, Job Ready, and Maxa Jerusalem. These four components will cover different areas within different sectors, with the joint mission of creating more, and successively better-paid jobs for the inhabitants of East Jerusalem. The plan is to enable 3000 jobs in different industries over a five-year period.
Component 1: Connect
Matching the unemployed to jobs.
Different ways of finding candidates; Office, internet, being out in relevant areas, marketing, events, etc.
Job bank. Use job sites and our own channels to companies and the public sector.
Dedicated work regarding personal matching.
Channels for complementary education.
Component 2: Growth
Two roads:
Supporting existing small companies in East Jerusalem to grow the number of employees.
Inspire companies to establish operations in East Jerusalem.

Different kinds of short courses to better prepare candidates for a job.

Establish SFL Job Hub courses.

An event that connects companies and investors, in order to promote growth.
